Introduction
The vampire history resulted in a clear distinction between their groups. There are five vampire families, also known as Clans. Their members can be distinguished easily by physical appearance. They tend to have similar skin tone, built or hair color, but it is not always the case. One thing that does not vary, however, is their the eyes.

The Clans are very large families, seeing as most generations are usually alive. Therefore, they operate all around the world, and often form smaller units. The largest ones are Covens, then the rest travels in pairs or alone.

As mentioned above, there are five Clans. All of them are bilateral, meaning that all the descendants are related through both male and female line. Each of them has begun in a different period of time with one individual - a vampire born from human parents (See the Origin), also known as the Elder*. They were the very first vampires in existence, and they are the ancestors of the Firstborns*. The Elders have the power over the members of their clan. They are the wisest and the most respected in the vampire community. Although each of the clans has its own aims and ambitions, and they compete for the most influence and power, they can come together as allies if their world or children are endangered - as survival is the one aim they all have in common. There is only one clan that has no Elder, and that is the Lilitu. We will discuss the Clans chronologically, from the oldest, to the newest.

The Lilitu is the oldest, largest, and at the same time the most reckless Clan in existence. Their story begins in a small pagan village somewhere in Europe, where around the year 1000BC, the very first vampire was born. It was a girl. Her appearance instantly distinguished her from other newborns. Her skin resembled the moon, it was pale and had a strange gleam to it, it wasn't reddened like the other infants'. Her hair was a golden blonde, and when she opened her eyes, she stunned everyone with the pale blue of them.

She grew up in the village worshipped by the pagans like a deity. This isn't a surprise - after all, the fairest of the girls couldn't match her beauty; she would warn the villagers of danger long before it would come; and after reaching the age of 19 - she never aged. From the very beginning, the villagers made her human offerings - and Lilith could freely feed on their blood. Thanks to her keeping the village safe, it grew larger and stronger, and became one of the wealthiest. She grew accustomed to be treated like a queen, and although she was wise, her foolish side was her vanity.

Upon reaching the age of 19, an offering of different kind was made to her. She could choose a man - any man. She chose a young man called Samuel, who was considered the most handsome in the village. And she bore him a child. The child was a girl, an exact resemblance of Lilith, looking nothing like the father. She was named Lexis - meaning firstborn daughter. She too, was worshipped by the villagers. A decade later, Lilith bore Samuel another two. They were twins, a boy and a girl. They were named Gyth and Cecily. They too, did not resemble Samuel by any means.

Some time after, Samuel was with another woman. Lilith's anger was so great, that she killed him without hesitation. The villagers saw the dangerous side of their goddess that they have never seen before. Suddenly, they began to fear her. When another 10 full years have passed since the last time she had children, a number of handsome, young men was brought again before her. One of them stood out with his darker skin and hair, and she chose him. No one knew that the man was a therianthrope. When he was with Lilith alone, he had changed into an enormous snake, and killed her, and then disappeared into the night. And this was the end of the very first vampire.

But it was not the end of the Lilitu. After the snake had disappeared, the guard ran to Lexia and informed her of the fate that befell her mother - saying that the serpent-man promised to leave him alive if he spoke nothing of it. Lexia was bewildered, and she, together with her siblings, left the village searched the world, wanting nothing but revenge. Eventually they found the man, and killed him. They never rested and kept searching for more, fearing that he was not the only one of his kind. Since then, they had children, the second generation of Lilitu. And their children had children too, and so the Clan grew larger. They were all told of Lilith's, their Mother's death (she was referred to as the 'Mother' by all the generations), and their mission became annihilating the serpent-men. They were consumed in their rage - since these strange men were the only threat to their invincibility, and that hurt their vanity greatly. Since then, instead of deities, the Lilitu began to be seen as something evil, demons. They spread all around the world, looking for therians.

Lexia, Gyth and Cecily exist to this day, and hold the power within the Clan. They are often referred to as the Orphaned Three. They often disagree with each other, causing the Clan to be a very unstable one. Their vanity is their weakness, as well as their mindless, everlasting quest for revenge. The three are called to the Elder Council only in the greatest need - for, although many of the Lilitu have been killed, they still remain the largest of the Clans.
