The Neorth Rules

General Rules

These are the rules, and the rules must be followed. If you have any questions or worries, please don’t hesitate to contact one of the staff!

1. Neorth is a mature board, but keep it subtle. So, you can have violence, ‘relationships’ and the like – but nothing explicit! Please use a warning if you feel it might offend people.

2. NO one-liners. If somebody writes a long post, it’s common courtesy to try your hardest to put equal detail into your reply! Obviously this isn’t always possible, but posts should be a minimum of 2 paragraphs with at least 5 sentences for each paragraph.

3. NO Mary-sues! This means that your characters can’t be Mr. or Mrs. Perfect. Everybody has a fault, and life is ever the more interesting because of it.

4. NO god-moding. This is when you control somebody else’s character for them by role-playing something that they haven’t agreed to have done, which is not only irritating but also rude. For example:

‘Joe: Joe was sitting on the floor of his bedroom.
Bob: Bob was walking down the street when Joe started skipping around him, yelling out “I love Bob!”’

It’s just not good.

5. Don’t go killing off characters unless you have permission from them and the staff. Also, think carefully about things like this; after all, once your character is dead, they can’t come back.

6. Post in third person when role-playing. OOC comments can be in first person.

7. Signatures should be 250 high x 600 wide, no bigger please. If it is bigger, the staff will either remove your signature or resize it for you. Avatars should be 200x200.

8. Do not harass people. If you send them a message and they don’t reply straight away, don’t send them 10 more because you think they’re being rude! If your character is a slightly suspicious kind and has a fixation with another person, please let them know, and the recipient of such attention should also have the main say as to whether they want to be pursued or not.

9. No chat speak. Any posts resembling something along the lines of the below will be deleted pronto.
